I really like the boston lager, and there is not a huge difference, not quite as malty, but still this has a nice caramel color and flavor, with a nice body for a light beer. Nice clean finish. anthlovesbeer (67), north grafton, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 14, 2008 I am just too used to the Boston Larger to say I really liked this beer. A lot of flavor is truely missing. Very clean finish; almost nothing at the end but a wet mouth aching for some flavor. jeremytoni (1123), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 12, 2008 From a bottle poured amber with a fair amount of head. Kind of blah even for sam adams. mbgrayson (150), Anaconda, Montana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 12, 2008 A very nice, relatively full bodied, light beer. Good solid flavor, and is one of the best light beers I have yet tried. ebrowner88 (113), Rice, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Pours a golden color. More color then most lacro lagers. 1 finger head that stays a long time. Nose is malty pear. Tast is malty but not as sweet as the nose would let on. It does taste a little watered down for a "craft beer" but still the best tasting light I have had. A very good session beer. kidmartinek (1001), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Pours golden. A darker color for a beer called a light beer. Large 2 inch frothy and thick white head. The beer is see through, of course, and hardly has any bubbles. Sweet malty aroma with some citrus notes. There is some apple (citrus) in the aroma and taste. I’m assuming this is a light version of the Boston lager, but has more balls like the Boston ale. I think its much better than the Boston lager actually. The flavor is full, and hardly characteristic of a light beer. It’s a little sweet, and has a light hoppy, fairly crisp finish. There is definitely no crap corn in this beer. Good job on this one Jim. This is a good beer for the style and definitely a premium lager and not a crappy pale American lager like I was expecting. If you’re looking for a light beer, this is an excellent choice. It’s refreshing, but almost a little heavy if you’re a lightweight. changeup45 (804), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Not a bad light beer at all. Amber in color topped with just a thin white head. The head fizzles pretty quickly and little to no lace is left on the glass. Not really a whole lot like a regular Boston Ale or Lager. This had a watery, slightly sour taste and just a bit of a hoppy flavor. Not really for me but if I feel like a light beer or you are looking for a good light beer definitely give this one a shot. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Nice off-white head with a full gold body. Malty aroma and a weak, weak, Boston Lager taste. Malty and watery, with a watery mouthfeel. Needs to be a signifigant calorie reduction over the regular to justify the taste difference.
