One of the better light beers I have has. Pours a nice looking caramel color with nice off-white head. Aroma of light caramel, toast, a little nut and very light hops. Flavor is light caramel and very light hop flavor to balance. Mouth feel is light body but not very watery and high carbonation. Overall, it’s not bad at all..... Bready nose and a hint of spicy hops. Tasted like a macro brew but without the adjuncts. Best light beer yet. I can’t believe they also make Utopias and the Triple Bock! | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 6, 2007 This is a fantastic light beer. The body is highly carbonated, allowing bubbles to dance upon your tongue as you taste subtle hops, malt, and a crisp alcohol kick. mcclenw (36), Stevenson, Alabama, USA

Aroma is that of a weaker Boston Lager. Flavor is slight caramel. All in all my favorite light beer. porterhouse (1158), Alna, Maine, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 26, 2007 (Bottle (best before 11/07) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/l target=blank>Lou’s Beverage Barn) Pours clear light amber with one finger of biege head. Nose is rather weak but has faint hints of egg and vanilla and some hops. Mouthfeel is blunt and cardboard-like, quite prickly, thin. Flavor is rather wooden and artificial but has some caramel/vanilla/egg hints but really not much. Even though this is a light beer I expected a little more from Sammy. Premium lager? bhensonb (4341), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Pours well. A nice amber color and a decent beige head. Aroma sort of a standard macro with a bit of caramel - this is a big improvement. There’s some noble hop to go with the caramel. Pretty thin in body, and the carbonation is fizzy. The flavor is caramel, not all that light either, and the expected hop. It is almost crisp, and pretty clean. At 128 calories this is way more flavorful than should be possible. More hop and this could really be something. scooterling (21), S. San Francisco, California, USA

Perhaps it was my move to the West Coast that has me craving hoppy beers now. Lighter than Sam Adams, but not really a true light diet beer. Amstel is still my choice. jsh12bama (338), Alabama, USA
