Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Pours a golden color with a white head. Really not much taste because its a lite beer. 12 oz. bottle

12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, copper-orange body with a finger-width, off-white, fizzy head that dissipates quickly and leaves just a light lacing. Aroma is a light, sweet caramel and some pale malts. A bit of metallic citrus and berries creep in there as well. Flavor is cereal grain malts and a light caramel sweetness. Some crisp toffee in the finish as well as a berry sweetness. Medium dry with a light bitterness in the finish. Thinner bodied, but smooth. Overall, hands down the best "light" beer I’ve had. Doesn’t taste overly watered down or unnatural. When it comes to genre, this is top notch.

Pretty decent for a light beer in all honesty, but some American wheats have just about as few calories, so why waste them?

Hmm. Best looking light beer I’ve ever seen. Has the colour and presence of an ale. Bouquet is kind of fishy though. Watered down fish sauce. Flavour is not bad for a light beer. You can tell that there are flavours that would normally explode but cant. Almost all water towards the back of the mouth.

Golden orange in color with a decent sized off-white head. Aroma is of malt, grain, and light hops. Taste is of grain, malt and cardboard.

Slight malty flavor, faint hoppy flavor. Not a lot going on. One of the better light beers on the market, but why pay so much for something that is generally lacking in the flavor department?

By far the best light beer I’ve had. You can still tell it’s a light beer but leaps and bounds better than anything else domestic. Has a nice malty taste with a quick finish. If you’re going to go light, this is the way to go.
