Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Bottle. Sickly sweet pale malt aroma, possibly corny but I’m not laying money on it. Slight yeast and a goodly dash of grain. Deep, dark golden body, surprisingly so, with a vigorous and noisy soapy beige head. Sweet pale malt taste, mid-body through aftertaste is nice and bready, but dries out only slightly. Startlingly full body, albeit with a somewhat blasé feel. Pro: easily one of the best "light" or "lite" beers around. Con: That’s still not saying much.

Eh, decent light beer I guess. I was looking for something more from Sam Adams. Some hop aroma with a bit of flavor. Slight malt backround. Overall, it’s definitly better then Bud and Coors light but Miller Lite isn’t far behind in opinion.

Bottle. Pours a light orange with a small head. The taste is really watery, with some light hops and a smooth malt. Overall, one of the best light beers, that’s not saying much of course.

Sampled at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Light, pale lager colored body. Fizzy Sprite looking head. No lasting power or lacing. Nose of cardboard, wet grains, grass and some light floral hops. Flavor is watery, of course, with all of the hinted notes from the aroma accounted for. Light bodied, watery palate. Finish is brief, thankfully. Not good.

A very nice light beer. Nice amber color with sweet malt aroma and flavor. Small head. Good mouth feel and not overly carbonated. No lacing to speak of but this is a light beer with some substance. I think it’s an A+ for the style.

Bottle. Some pilsner-like aroma of grain and malt. The flavor is similar, pretty dry and grainy. Pretty good for a light beer (whatever that means). I just had it because I knew I hadn’t rated it.

Bottle, I know light beer, it goes against everything I believe in. What can I say I got caught up in the hype. Nice amber color much deeper then any other light. Good hoppy aroma with some sweet caramel trown in. That caramel comes at you in the initial flavor, with a good hoppy finish. The body of the beer is where they lost me too watery, just a very week mouthfeel. If I had to drink light beer this is the one i would go for. Yikes thinking about having to drink light beer made me die just a little bit inside. I’m going for an I.P.A.
