Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Bottle Out of the bottle at a case race (4th of 12 teams, everyone else on Natty level beer). Really not bad for a light beer, definitely the best light I’ve had.

Appearance: Pours a light brown body with a full, though quickly thinning off-white head. Smell: Faint aroma of caramel and crumbly, dry toast. Taste: Light flavor of toasted bread with a touch of caramel malts and a very subdued sweetness. Hops remain exceedingly light. Clean finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: It has alot to offer, relatively, for a little light lager.

12oz bottle. This beer is sweet, but it has a light grassy harsh hop snap to it. It needs more hop flavor like the lager. It isn’t bad, but I like amstel light just as much.

Noble hops and yeast in the aroma here. Golden amber with a light straw head. The flavor is more present than in other examples of this style, but still lacking in all areas.

Smells very pleasantly hoppy at first, gives way to a skunky grassy unpleasant aroma. Taste is very similar to your average light beet. Watery, lacking flavor, hints of malt. Nothing special.

Faint sweet smell, almost like white zifindel, and a very larger hop aroma. Moderately sweet flavor, some maltiness in there too. More golden or amber than any other ligh, almost a rusty orange. Would never drink this over any of the other Sams but this is one of the better lights around, maybe thee best.

bottle. malty, sweet taste... doesn’t taste like your typical lite beer at all... pours a nice amber color. Not much in the aroma. If you want a beer with low calories, pick up some of this - b/c it beats the alternatives hands down, except in price.

Bottle. Foamy white head, good retention. Hint of hops in the aroma & taste. The best light beer I’ve tried, but it’s still a light beer.
