Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

For a light beer, really not too bad. Good, crisp lager taste without the nasty flavors from most light beers. Nothing interesting, but if you’re going to have a light beer this is the one to try.

Wow, this beer has a loyal following on this site! I love the brewer, but this beer is not their best work. Nothing more than a cleanly made, boring pale lager. No character, no standout features, somewhat watery body.

12 oz bottle from Discount Liquor from Voorhees, NJ-deep amber coloring, light hints of hops and malts, not bad for a light beer, but of course slightly light. Balanced nicely.

Had this beer on 8/29/2002. Aroma is mild with just a hit of hops to it. Color is a bright deep gold with very active carbonation. Taste smooth and bland. Starting with a light body it goes down with a smooth fluffy feel that turns a bit fizzier on the end. Finish is light with a mild malt flavor backed by just the faintest bitterness.

12 ounce bottle. Shaker glass. Amber with a thin head. Aroma - malt and caramel. The taste is much the same. Malt and caramel based. Not nearly as hoppy as the regular Sam Adams and it was a little watery, but hey it’s a light beer. Very nice. By far the best light beer I’ve had and much better than most Amerian lagers.

Top notch for a Light beer. Doesn’t taste like any other light beer I have tried, maybe Shiner Light is distant 2nd. Good aroma and taste.

Hands down - the best light beer in the world....I would have liked the name Sam Adams Diet though.

Actually quite a tasty beer in general, very good for a light beer. Smooth toffee flavors in the malts, faint clove honey flavor and a bit fruity in the finish, faint cherry flavor. Pours amber, very clear, with a soft white head. I’m kind of suprised at the low score on this, although people probably knock a few points for it being light.
