Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

It’s certainly better than most light beers, but that isn’t saying much. Not much flavor, a slightly nasty light beer aftertaste, not a beer that I would normally drink.

One of my favorite for Sam Adams. I drank this alcohol treat out of a Disney lager glass in the company of heroes. Very pleasing for a pale lager.

For a light beer this is pretty good. Has an amber colour with a white head. I like the regular Boston Lager better but it still has a good hops-like taste and It has 51 less calories. A little bit of citrus in the taste. Overall I think that it should have a rating higher than the 17% it has now. I drank this out of a Lager glass

With a slightly amber hue, looks nicer than most light beers. Light malty aroma, but not much flavor. In the end, a mostly nondescript light beer.

Decent 1-inch head. Medium reddish hued color. Slightly harsh aroma. Thin bodied with a bit of a chemical aftertaste, and for some reason created a burning sensation in my throat, which has yet to happen with any other beer. A little better then a typical ’light’ lager but, still not quite there.

I was disappointed with this. Original Sam was my first "real" beer, and after the commercials claiming it’s catagory Gold Metal, I thought it would be a winner. The nose was almost undetectable, and the flavor was watered down, bland, and utterly forgetful, without a hint of hops. Sorry, BBC.

Well for a light beer it’s ok. One of those pop a top anytime beer perfect with the burgers and brats on the grill.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Much better looking then other light beers. Aroma is of floral hops, caramel, and grains. Flavor is the same with very little of a lingering flavor. Not really that good but still much better then any other light beer I’ve had.
