Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

A light beer with the color of most beers lager style beers. Medium amber with a small head. Aroma is light caramel malts, wheat and grains. For a light beer with a ABV of barely 4% the flavor is huge. Malty and hoppy with a crisp bite. It is the best light beer I have ever had.

I hate to do this for a light beer, but I have never tasted anything like it in the category. It pours amber- who ever heard of that for a light beer? It has great a great malted barley flavor that finishes clean and light. It fools you into thinking that you are drinking a much more substantial beer. There is a great depth of flavor and crispness which almost never go hand-in-hand. Light beers are considered a joke, but don’t laugh at this one- just smile.

12 oz bottle. Best before Oct. ’07

Dark golden with a fleeting off white head.

Light caramel malt aroma, slightly sweet.

Flavor is bready malts with a light metallic finish.

Body is a little thin, but it is a light beer so it is expected. Actually it was really good for a light beer.

Pours with an ok heada nd an amber body. Does not really look like a light beer. Mild aroma barely worth noting. Taste is mostly watery with a little metallic tint. Some beer flavor peeps through the watered down taste, but at least it is smooth and completely non-offensive. Some hops are there as well as some malts. Not too bad.

Pours a deep golen color with a fairly nice white head. Aroma is slightly yeasty. Taste is what I would expect from a light beer, a little warey, A touch of hopps. Ok for a light beer.......

This is a nice hoppy light beer. Compared to other light beers there is so much more flavor and bitterness and it is not as watery as other light beers. It has a nice bitter sweet flavor with mild hops.
