Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a golden amber color with a medium frothy white head. A very malty aroma with light hops. Good lacing that dissipates quickly. The taste is a watery malt with a metallic finish, nowhere near as good as boston lager.

One of my favorite light beers. Pours a golden orange, with a sudsy small head. Very clean and crisp. Malt and caramel with a smooth finish. No bitterness. I like it in the summer.

clear gold orange and a medium light head very thin body and crisp bubbles. caramel sweetness to it, if it had a little more bitterness it would actually not be that bad, but its pretty good for a light beer

okay so i finnished mowing the lawn and all i had in the fidge was my wifes sam adams light. drank out of the bottle so ill give it the benifit of the doudt with a 3/5 for appearance. smell is grassy with a hint of hops. taste was just okay, better than most lights, it is a bit hopy, very light in body and a little watery. overall just okay, not something that i would normally drink but will settle for.

Don’t believe the hype! After the commercials and wearing the Sam Adams label, I really expected better from this beer. While I know this beer is not made with adjuncts, it had an unpleasant corny/grainy taste that I assoicated with some of the Mexican imports, like Sol. It was not horrible, with more color than other light beers, but if I were to pick-up a light beer, I’d be much happier drinking a Miller Lite than with a Sam Light.

Absolutely the best light beer I’ve ever tried. Better than the big three’s lights by far. Still like all light beers it leaves you wanting more. It definately has more flavor than any other light beer, but the finish is still to watery.
