Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Bottle Goldenish colour with a rather shot bubbly white head. Aroma of malt and some sweetness. Flavour is fresh and rather thin, some maltiness and hoppiness. For a light (US version) beer this is absolutely the very best I have had.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale amber color with a slightly off-white head. Sweet malty slightly hoppy aroma. Sweet malty slightly grainy flavor. Has a malty finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Clear golden, white head. Not much aroma, hint of malt maybe. Okay flavor for a light beer. Decent balance. It is what it is.

One of the better light beers. Brewed similarily to the regular boston lager but lacks the right flavoring to make it a good beer. So if you are looking for a light beer go here, but not for a good beer.

Considering this is a light macro this may be the best nationally available light lager out there. Naturally taste left a lot to be desired but what can you really expect? If you are going with a light this is about the best you are going to get.

Nice amber pour with a diminished head and decent soapy lace. The aroma is hard to pick up, but if anything, I note a tropical banana nose. This is where the brew lost me. Overcarbonated and seltzery, there does appear some banana overtones in the flavor, but I can’t detect any real malt or hops of any significance to weigh in on. Unfortunate, really.... very disappointing. I wish there was more to write about.

This beer has a surprising dark taste for a labeled "light" beer. One of the best light beers I have tasted. Sam Adams has a good thing going.
