Commercial Description:
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it's not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Don’t care for the Light. Better than Bud and the likes, but what isn’t? It is usually the beer left over after poker nights and still can’t figure out who keeps bringing them.

Bottle: hops are readily present, but in a medium intensity with malts to balance. A light beer that is unoffensive and certainly better than bud light or is competitors. However, the Boston lager is much better than this one...

This was a pretty decent light. The pilsner influences come through which is pleasant in a light. Some hops and malt can be detected. This is not a premium beer but for a light it is pretty nice.

Very hoppy as most sam adams are. Some what lacking on taste but very nice amber color.

Probably the best light beer I’ve ever had, but that’s not saying much. I’ve got a tip for America, if you want to lose weight, WORK OUT. Really, drinking a light beer saves you about 50 calories per beer. I think reading burns that many calories. So crack open something good and try to get outside and do something you pale white fat peice of dump.

Very light copper colored. White creamy head. Creamy texture. No aroma. Watery taste. Almost resembles a beer. If it was heavily hopped it may have been easier to pass as a beer.

As a gift from an American friend this past summer - what a treat! I’ve never tried the Boston Lager (readily available in my area), but if it’s anything like this, it’ll be a constant in my fridge! Wonderful lightly-hopped flavour that tastes like actual character and not a watered-down version of something else. Reminded me of a craft-brewed Rolling Rock (another beer I lament not being able to get). As light beers go, I can’t imagine a better one to have. Satisfies without compromising a thing! Great beer!

This has to be the best light beer around. A good lager that has a good hop character and a malty sweetness. It even smelled like a good beer. Crisp, full flavor with a light body and silky finish.
