greedycheater (73), Oklahoma, USA Mar 19, 2008 Immediately impressed with the clear amber color - not your traditional American light beer already. A distinct nose of something almost chocolate but covered by a combination of hops and barley. Very mild and pleasant. A sparkling caramel undertone is complimented by a well-balanced, smooth and lightly creamy taste. Despite the label denoting this as a light beer, I would say it is light to medium bodied on the tongue, with a minimal salty finish. Can Jim Koch brew no wrong? Incredibly easy to drink.
derekbang (83), Indiana, USA Jul 20, 2008 It’s been so long since I’ve had anything like Bud Light, Mller Lite, etc., but this beer didn’t seem too far off. I was hoping for some semblance of Boston Lager and found none. Watery and lacking of flavor. I’d rather drink less of a real beer than more of a light beer if calories are the issue. WakeandBake (3), Greenville, Michigan, USA does not count Jul 19, 2008 A serious light beer. Has a flavor all it’s own. My scores reflect this beer compared to other LIGHT beers. A small but pleasent aroma, very light on the tongue, but big on taste for a light beer,I would buy again but for the 30 to 40 calories saved you might as well buy a regular Sam Adams and then walk to the store to buy more to burn those extra calories. mwsmith (12), , Alabama, USA Jul 14, 2008 This is the Coke Zero of beer. There’s an obvious flavor difference, but only slight. I’ve had few light beers that left the sort of impression that Sam Adams Light has. (In a good way) ucusty (849), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 8, 2008 Solid light beer definitely better then miller lite or something else in that realm. Little like water, but hey i’m fat so maybe these will help ;) specksnreds (49), USA Jul 7, 2008 Wow. How utterly disappointing. Aren’t there enough light beers in the world? I guess not. Just spring for the extra 30 or 40 calories and get something with flavor.
