This is a dark amber beer that pours with a fizzy head that dissapears quickly. It has a mild malty, hoppy aroma and the taste is a mild sweet malty flavor with a touch of fizz. This is a nice light beer that goeswith just about anything and has a little more flavor than most. If you buy it in the bottle, drink it that way. Pouring into a glass will cause it to go flat fast!

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Poured a nice amber color with a decent head. Light aroma of citrus with a piney note underneath. Palate was what you’d expect of a light beer-light and smooth. Mild hoppy taste. Seems like a dumbed down Boston Lager. It’s a light beer, but it’s probably the best choice if you have to go with a light. slayer02348 (61), , Michigan, USA

The best of the light beers, which as far as I’m concerned still isn’t anything too great aenimopiate (148), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA

As far as beer goes, this one is lacking the body and soul of the original sam adams boston lager. It’s drinkable, but not my first preference. Give it a try for yourself and see what you think. Just don’t expect it to live up to the original. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA

And here we go. I wanted to be able to say that Sammy’s light was better than most other light beers, but it’s just not. Pale and soulless pour, fizzy in an Alka Seltzer kinda way. Tastes like paper and diet Fresca. More egg nog, please. obguthr (1076), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Surprisingly strong aroma of a barley, especially for a "light beer". Clear golden amber, no head. Essentially flavorless at first. Dried leaves and cherries appear at midpalate and are more easily noticed when warm. Yep, this is a light beer, alright. The aroma led me to believe it might be something more. It tastes pretty much like a watered down amber. The label is correct, there is no aftertaste. Unfortunately, there is no foretaste either. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is light but of pale and caramel malts. Flavor is also a blend of pale and caramel malt. OK for what is supposed to be a light beer I guess. Niko100 (162), New York, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Golden amber pour into a minimal white head that quickly dissipates into a ring of melting lacing as carbonated bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass into a swirling pool of foam. Aroma of malty biscuit with light hint of hops. Initial flavor of sweet bready malt much like the aroma, but eventually fading to slightly bitter hoppy finish.
