Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Apr 2, 2008 While I applaud all experimentation in the brewing of the world’s best beverage, this one did little for me. It seems like a mild golden ale with a hint of green grapes. Nice pour, a deep golden body with a full head. The aroma? A malt & corn sweetness with a suggestion of the vined fruit. The flavor is almost as exciting, cleaner malt tastes with a splash of honey and mayhaps some fruit or other. I wanted to like this more, but there’s not much to enjoy. Maybe it’d be better on a warm day, if we ever get such a thing in the Chicago area again.

santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 2, 2008 Clear gold body with a thin, fizzy white head. Smells rather boring and bland - some beady, slightly oxidized malt notes and a mild grape/hop hint. The taste is, as well, pretty boring. The grape flavor is very subdued, as well as the hops, and the malts are just base flavors. I think it’s a great idea for a beer, but didn’t translate from homebrew to commercial so well. scrizzz (1247), kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 1, 2008 Updated: Aug 20, 2008clear amber honey, very freely active carbonation, dense fluffy lasting white head. pale malt aroma, some young cantaloupe too and i get the white grape now that i’m looking for it. i don’t get much fruit save for the initial dose on the sides of my tongue. just a dry pilsner flavor and a finish that swings between metallic and amber honey. topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA Apr 1, 2008 12 oz bottle pours typical amber color. Aroma is fruity and sweet. Flavor is sweet and malty with a slightly bitter bite in the finish. A little to sweet for my liking. jimhilt (1663), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Mar 31, 2008 Pours a three finger white head that fades to a thin layer leaving some lace. Crystal clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Not much nose. Flavor sweetish, hops are balancing rather than the usual bite of a pale, clean finish. Would make a good summer beer. $1.50 12oz bottle from Capitol Convenience Concord, NH. rainekitty (5), Frederick, Maryland, USA does not count Mar 30, 2008 A 2007 Samuel Adams homebrew contest winner, this pale ale is light and refreshing, with a wheaty and grassy nose and just a hint of green grape. A little watered-down for my tastes, but the slight hint of green grape adds an interesting element. thehurt01 (201), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 29, 2008 A 12oz bottle with a best buy date. The beer poured a copper body with a creamy head . Smell is a malty fruit aroma. Taste is a semi sweet with a faint hint of grapes and a good malt body. Good carbonation and lacing.
Six pack! KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 28, 2008 Copper amber color. Smell of apples, malt, hops and minor caramel. Almost smells like a caramel apple. Taste of hops, malt, sugar, grain and tart. Bitter at the end.
