Trev (850), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Jun 7, 2008 Pours a nice copper colour with an off white head.
Aroma was medium malt, almost a flat ginger-ale aroma, some light herbal hoppiness.
A bit flat tasting as well. Caramel maltiness balanced by a fruity bitterness. IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Jun 5, 2008 12 oz bottle from Hollingshead Deli; Nose of a light hoppinesss with faint grape notes; light copper with a small off-white head; flavor had light hop bitterness and some caramel maltiness.finish is slightly sweet. jmw141 (134), Canton, Illinois, USA Jun 5, 2008 Bottle pour. ALl the aromas and flavors of your typical pale ale, but without the proposed grape flavor or aroma. Clean crisp mouthfeel with a dryish finish that is reminiscent of grapes. JMerritt (1313), Macomb, Illinois, USA Jun 2, 2008 Dark golden with a large, frothy off-white head that is nicely lasting. Aroma is sweet with notes of honey, white pepper, and straw. First impression upon taking a sip is the palate, it is very velvety with a silky carbonation that is absolutely perfect. Flavor-wise - some raw straw, rye bread, lightly fruity hops and something "stale" towards the end - almost like soggy corn tortilla chips. Not really detecting much I’d associate with "grape", however. freekyp (900), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA Jun 1, 2008 Aroma brings delicate caramel malt notes with a touch of fruitiness, but nothing that is clearly a grape aroma. Flavor is lightly malty with a tart snap laying on the sides of the tongue. The only clue that there is grape in here is when you breathe out. Very subtle, but in a good way. Nice long lingering fruity finish. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA May 30, 2008 Pours a clear ornage-gold colour with a thick frothy off-white head. The nose is very muted with some honey-sweet malts and no distinct notes of grapes to be detected. The flavour consists light malts, white grapes, earthy-sweetness and lager-like tones. The aftertaste leaves a slight lingering of honey and some vinous tones. The grapes are so subtle that I wouldn’t pick up on them without being told they are there. If I had entered the contest this year and lost to this POS I would be thoroughly insulted. The finish is medium dry and short. Eh. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA May 29, 2008 Bottle: Clear dark gold flavor with a white head and runny lacing. Fruity aroma consisting mainly of malts. You definitely pick up on the green grapes. This brew tastes like a chardonnay crashed into a premium lager. Sweet flavors with a slight dry finish. Thanks BuckeyeBoy for bringing this one into the shop. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA May 29, 2008 Bottle pours a medium light amber witha small fine lasting white head. I suppose that is grape that i smell in there. Very faint, though I suppose if you wanted serious grap there is always smuckers. I would call this an amber with a waft of grape notes. Don’t know if I taste it at all.
Thanks to BuckeyeBoy
