SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Jun 11, 2009 I bought a doughnut, and they gave me a receipt for the doughnut. I don’t need a receipt for the doughnut, man, I’ll just give you the money, and you give me the doughnut... end of transaction. We don’t need to bring ink and paper into this. I just can’t imagine a scenario where I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. Some skeptical friend: "Don’t even act like you didn’t get that doughnut! I got the doc-u-men-tation right here... oh, wait it’s at home... in the file... under ’D’..." Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a tan head. Sweet caramel notes, and light wood, dried fruit. Caramel raisin alcohol warming real nice. ben4321 (948), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 14, 2009 Overall Impression:
Out of the LongShot pack from I believe 2007? I remember enjoying this one the most of the pack. A nice blend and a powerful beer. Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 3, 2009 Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, metal, over ripe fruits, and caramel, leading to a dry bitter and alcoholic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Adam77 (407), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA Apr 14, 2009 Poured brown with a tan head. Aroma of caramel and fruit. Sweet caramel and molasses flavor. Hint of toffee. milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Jan 30, 2009 Very rich and deep. Alcohol is slightly present. Reminds me slightly of a barleywine. A pretty tasty brew from Sam Adams. douglas88 (1555), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jan 10, 2009 Updated: Jan 11, 2009Bottle thanks to goldtwins. Pours out a beautiful dark copper color with a thick off-white head and some ice lacing. The aroma is powerful and nice; loads of fruity notes and just heaps of malts. Something akin to strawberries or plums. The flavor is excellent; smooth rich flavors, some heavy and sweet fruit, a massive sweetness, molasses and brown sugar, a tangy finish and some sweet burnt chocolate and caramel. A nice roasted mocha-like flavor in the finish. The alcohol is present; from the nose to the finish, but not in a bad way, it just adds to this beer’s quality. Very nice. I hope this gets produced for many years. Man, I am loving Old Ales. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 21, 2008 courtesy of ibrew2or3.
Pours deep brown with beige head.
Aroma and taste, thick grainy with notes of caramel malts and chocolate, add to the mix some dark fruits.
Very enjoyable and slow sipper. Props to Sam Adams for releasing it.
