Hinez57 (129), Clinton, Mississippi, USA Mar 18, 2008 Wonderful nose, warm bread and dark fruits dominate with hints of alcohol and spice. Beautiful dirty brown with a nice head, pretty good lacing. Flavor is fantasticly dominated with malt character, dark fruits, and bready wheat. Light spice/clove notes are evident. Does have an odd bitter aftertaste on the rear of tounge. Wonderful mouthfeel, silky smooth. I’m completely suprised by how good this beer would be on a hot day or a cold winter night! A great brew that any homebrewer or master brewer would be proud of. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Mar 18, 2008 A well rounded beer. Very yeasty and malty with a slight hop finish. Nice dark reddish color and the head is decent, but doesnt last too long. Easy to drink. mrant (330), New York, USA Mar 18, 2008 Smells very bready, has a lemony zest to it, slight banana notes. Taste is very strong sweet banana flavor, almost exactly like juicy fruit bubblegum. Delicious. egajdzis (3602), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 18, 2008 Poured a murky brown color with a large, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of ripe bananas, citrus fruits, light clove, caramel, and a bit of almond. Taste of more banana, citrus, clove, nuts, toffee, and earthy yeast. Light alcohol in the finish. truebluehes (104), Tipton, Iowa, USA Mar 18, 2008 Bottle. Aroma is heavy on the cloves and a bit of banana. Flavor was a nice mix of cloves, banana and some dark fruits... Nice and spicy. Nice hope bitterness on the finish. GG (1612), NorCal, California, USA Mar 18, 2008 The best out of the LongShot series this year (which isn’t saying much, since the grape pale ale pretty much sucked). Huge clove notes in the aroma, which parlayed into a nice brown sugar-banana’s foster thing. But the easiest aroma to get was cloves. Appearance is a dark brown, cloudy with a nice one-finger thick head with dissipated into a creamy 1/2" thick head that stayed nearly the entire duration. Flavor were cloves, dark fruits, spicy, and enough character to make me think this was more akin to a Belgian dubbel. A very enjoyable beer either way you slice it. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Mar 17, 2008 Homebrew. At first, it tasted like something I would make. Meaning drinkable and I feel lucky I am still alive. But as it warmed, it was better. Very dark. Poured beautifully. Dark Hazy. I enjoyed it. Some vinuous in the finish. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Mar 17, 2008 Brown with a nice off-white head. aroma is of fresh ripe bananas with a hint of clove. Taste is of banana and clove as well with a slight hop bitterness. I tasted a hint of root beer in the taste as well...call me crazy. Creamy mouthfeel with a medium body.
