undsioux7 (553), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Mar 8, 2008 Pours a murky looking brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma of clove, banana, some fruit. Nice flavor, sweet with a bit of an alcohol bite at the end. copyright grimreeser alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Mar 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy yellowish brown color with a large beige head that leaves sporadic lacing. The aroma is a nice combination of banana, cloves, yeast, caramel malt, and dark fruits. The flavor has more big banana taste with the yeast, cloves and other spices, caramel, and a hint of nuts. The alcohol just darts in at the end of the glass as it warmed. This is a solid beer and a thanks goes out to Rodney Kibzey for this one. TomDecapolis (3127), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 8, 2008 Pours a hazy brown with orange/amber notes and a large foamy/creamy off white lacing head. Aroma of strong banana and clove, some dark fruits, toasted malt and nuts. Flavor of the same banana and clove, dark fruits, toffee, some nuts and toasty malt. Nice and smooth with a ton of flavor! If I made this beer I would be proud! If the home brewed version tasted anything like this...I could see why it won! RSRIZZO (1337), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Mar 8, 2008 Aroma is a bold yeast and sweet malt scent. Color is a deep hazy orange brown with fair carbonation and a tight off white head. Taste is bold, creamy and sweet. Starting with a full/medium body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish is yeasty with a good dry fruit and a little banana taste and a faint hoppiness. After taste has a very easy bitterness and nice spicy feel. This is a very good brew, its got a Belgian like taste to it and may be one of the best Bocks I can remember having. Its much better then the other winner this year (Longshot Grape Pale Ale). The more I drink it the more I like it. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Mar 7, 2008 12oz bottle-A cloudy brown with a nice tight tan head which emits an aroma of roasted malt, sugar, caramel, wheat, banana, and slight belgian yeast. Taste from this medium bodied brew is of the same with the banana and cloves being very prominent along with some malt. I think this almost fits better as a Dunkel Weizen in the beginning then as it warms up the alcohol and malt become more prominent. Nice tasting brew. Cobra (1060), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA Mar 7, 2008 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Best by July 2008 on box. Poured out a cloudy orangish brown color, with a thin tan head. Aromas are mostly cloves, with some chocolate malts. Flavors are mostly cloves, sweet malts, bit of roastiness. Medium mouthfeel, thin body. Finished spicy. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Mar 6, 2008 Appearance matches the picture shown. Aroma is wheat, banana, caramel, clove, darker sugar, gum, earth, moderate to light hops. Medium bodied, quite sweet, pretty damn enjoyable for a SA brew. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA Mar 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with medium beige head. Aroma is lovely, full of fruit and lots of banana and clove. Flavor is wheaty, somewhat yeasty, with distinct spiciness throughout. Somewhat sugary at times but comes to a dryer finish with lingering spice. Has a good mouthfeel, one I’ve come to expect from the style, with an alcohol warmth that sneaks in. Overall pretty darn good stuff I wish I could get it solo the 3 bottles I had I don’t think were enough.
