Commercial Description:
Created by Rodney Kibzey, Illinois Rodney describes his wonderfully complex brew as "deep amber in color with a full creamy body and a dark fruit and clove aroma." This traditional Bavarian style brew took Rodney a few batches to perfect, but the taste is worth all of his hard work.

2-16-08 bottle.
Thick brown in color with a fluffy pillow-like head that is soapy. Smell is light Belgian yeast, similar to a hefe. Not a preferred style of mine. Flavor is decent, actually reminds me of a roasted hefeweizen - not bad. Clove in smell and flavor. Thick mouthfeel but high carbonation. Pretty good for the style, just not a style I like.

Bottle from BevMo. Pours a hazy dark brownish color. Sweet yeasty aroma. Some bubblegum and spicy clove. Solid yeasty flavor with a bit of a burnt tobacco taste. Some toffee. Quite refreshing.

Aroma: Powerful. Bubblegum, banana, banana chocolate chip muffin, lemon, biscuit, sweet cigar tobacco, and tangerine scents. Very good smell.
Appearance: Cloudy. Dirty, medium brown color. Large amount of thick beige head. Nice lacing.
Flavor: Strong flavors. Sweet start but very dry finish. Generally tastes like it smells. Perhaps a bit too sweet. Quite spicy: Clove, cinnamon, and white pepper.
Palate: Long, surprisingly parchingly dry, lightly bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body. Smooth and lively in the palate. Easy to drink.
Overall: Sam Adams LongShot Weizenbock is a very good, satisfying beer. It is reminiscent of a Christmas ale in its spiciness and dryness. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle. Thanks to tennisjoel for this bottle. The last two Boston Beer Company products I’ve tasted (Imperial Pilsner and this) have been excellent.

Thanks to KAggie97 for handing me this. Filthy brown pour with solid beer head. Aroma was flambéed bananas with caramelized sugar on top...yummy. A wash of more subtle bananas mixed with cloves covers the tongue on first taste. Mouthfeel is pretty straightforward. The finish is quick, but leaves a nice sugared malt taste. Thanks Kaggie!

I was very pleased with this beer. A nice dark color with a modest head. Tasted great from begining until the end. The aftertaste is pleasant and leaves you wanting more.

While it pours a muddy brown and in somewhat unsightly, this is the perfect wiezenbock. Malty brown sugar aroma with definitive banana notes portend a like flavor. Somewhat sweet but with a lite hop bite on end to temper the malt. Full bodied but easily drinkable for a 7.2% brew. Would be great with a hearty Thanksgiving turkey dinner. I love to see this make it into SA’s regular line-up.

Pours a murky looking brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma of clove, banana, some fruit. Nice flavor, sweet with a bit of an alcohol bite at the end.

Bottle from Belmont Party . Poured cloudy dark brown color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spicy roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium to heavy roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.
