Feb 28, 2008 this ber is pretty damn good. Dark, sweet and fruity. Smells like bananas - finishes the same. A nice brew. Sam Adams has a hit with this ’long shot’ deal.

Feb 28, 2008 Updated: Mar 3, 2008Very good "grandma’s banana bread" aroma. Flavor finishes just a tiny bit thin: I’d like just a little bit more sweetness to round it out. Pretty damn good as is, though.

Feb 28, 2008 Pours a cloudy brown, looks just brown in the glass with a tan head....tons of sweet clove on the sniff, some alcohol, and on a deeper sniff malty bananas...W.B. smells banana bread...medium sweet body...loaded with nanas from the first sip to the finish...mild malts and clove flavors....a nice clove and banana finish....it has a little creamy texture to it...a pleasure for the palate...nice lacing also

Feb 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Well, one of our boys made it (though Rodney is Urban Knaves of Grain and I’m Brewers of South Suburbia). Dark brown color, a bit cloudy, I think, short layer of foam. Smell mostly of wheat and dark grains. I suspect even this long in the bottle will start to mellow out the weizen esters. But those characteristics are there in the palate: a sweet banana nut bread taste among grains with a bit of roastiness and a bite of yeast. Clove comes out next, with cardamon and poppyseed. Hmm… it’s a muffin in a beer. Almost a bit too much to chew on, but a good big beer that preserves the quirks of good homebrew.

Feb 27, 2008 Bottle. Brown, hazy, small white head. Aroma is strong banana, and bread. Flavor is similar, not very yeasty, but full of banana and clove. Flavor is fruity, but full for a wheat beer.

Feb 26, 2008 12 oz bottle from the LongShot six pack. Pours a medium brown color with a touch of a white head. Aroma is cloves, malt and banana? Taste is very nice with spices and what seems like a bit of that ’old hefeweizen’ taste. Good beer.

Feb 26, 2008 Wheat and fruity aroma. Cloudy brown color with a small tan head and moderate lacing. Wheat flavor in the beginning with a slight amount of clove spices in the finish. Chewy palate.

Feb 26, 2008 I’m generally a an of the style, and some of Sam’s Longshot beers have been pretty good. This one was lacking, at least for me. It looks beautiful in the glass, with a roasty cranberry color and a good head. The aroma was as intensely band-aid as any beer I’ve had. But some of those band-aid beers produce wonderully complex flavor explosions in your mouth -- this one was mostly more band-aid. A little fruitiness came through, but not much more. Not recommended.
