harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Dec 27, 2008 355ml bottle from a trade with a non RBer. Very deep russet with thin beige head. Quite a sweet nicely bocky weizen. Does everything you would expect but more with an American character than German. Nice sweetish darkish malts. Quite pleasant. Drank on Xmas Eve in the kitchen chatting. Took about an hour to finish it. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Dec 13, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Very creamy. Cloves and such on the nose. Alcohol warms the tummy. Gets a little sour in the finish.
Snojerk321 (1914), San Diego, California, USA Dec 11, 2008 Pours a murky looking brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma of clove, banana, some fruit. Nice flavor, sweet with a bit of an alcohol bite at the end. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 Very tasty and creamy. Part of the Sam Longshot sampler. Interesting blend of flavors but overall very good. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Nov 20, 2008 translucent hazy dark brown appearance, nice white head. Estery nose, flavor of dark crystal and wheat with the yeast being the predominate flavor. A very solid beer especiallhy for a macro, but the yeast doesn’t quite have the depth to make it a top of the line example zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Nov 2, 2008 (bottle - 12 oz) Murky brown pour with not much of a head. Aroma is kind of light with some chocolate, banana, clove, and yeast. Flavor is spicy and yeasty at the beginning with a middle of some roasted malts, bananas, and a bit of chocolate near the end. Sweet and smooth when you drink it. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Oct 29, 2008 Bottle given to me by MaxxDaddy. Thank you sir. Beautiful pour, awesome head, with a muddy copper brown body that is completely unfiltered. Aroma is lightly metallic, wheaty (almost smells like its just begun germinating) with a touch of tomato and pure dark chocolate. The body is thick and perfect, though the beer is very slightly chalky. The flavor is slightly sweet and very grainy, and there a mild ethanol burn far into the finish. TheGent (143), , Massachusetts, USA Oct 16, 2008 This is so great to try, I dont get to see many of this style being sold and to have a major company like sam put it out is great even if it is a rare release. appearance was amazing with murky brown that darkened the higher it sat int he glass. smelled of clove or maybe nutmeg with a crisp sugar banana in the back. the taste was a musky roasty taste with a full mouth feeling that ended just short of being heavy.
