Ethereal (927), London, Greater London, England Jul 7, 2007 Updated: Jul 10, 2007275ml bottle, encountered as ’Samba Lager’ on Barbados. Perhaps the ’since 1999’ on the bottle should have served as a warning, but I was determined to try any beers I found on my holiday. This is truly awful lager. The aroma is chemical, the taste non-existent, the palate watery and the appearance is basically that of a glass of carbonated urine. It says they import Czech hops to Trinidad to make it - they should just import Czech beer instead! chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England May 9, 2004 I encountered this unexpectedly (being brewed in Trinidad) in a shop in Guadeloupe. After drinking a lot of poor tropical macro lager, I hoped for something a little more interesting from what seemed to be a micro brewery but it was really just more of the same. Not objectionable as long as its cold and you’re thirsty (which is inevitably the case in the Caribbean). As it warms honey notes in the aroma and a sweetish tang become apparent. No significant hop bite at all.
