This was only 2 months past the recommended date, so I’m assuming that it is supposed to be a little hazy and that it isn’t off (the flavour did nothing to help determine whether it was off or not). Pale gold. Overcarbonated. Quite stinky. Sweet with a ginger ale quality that I didn’t enjoy.

Ugh. Wierd smell, very sweet smellling. Not offputting, mind you, but disconcerting in a beer. Just wierd.

Bottle. Aroma is fruity, sweet, sugary and a bit grassy. I can mildly smell a pils in this aroma. Mildly hazy golden color with a small whitish head. Start is sweet, turning thin and a bit sour. Finishes grainy and adjuncty and watery. Mild artificial sweetness to finish. Egh.

Leon Pub, Tallahassee, Fl - 12 oz bottle. Looks like a urine specimen - cloudy and pale - little to no head. Aroma - a bit of wet cardboard and rancid grain. Flavor does not have much to offer - a faint wisp of sweet honey in the back end is about the only thing outside of the cheap corny lager taste. Very thin mouthfeel. Typical tropical lager.

12 oz bottle. Cloudy yellow with a small off white head. Aroma is grains and corn. Taste is boring and bland, sour, malty and doughy.

much thanks to whoever brought this crap to the beer room weekend. it was skunky, had a corn taste, but damn does the tropical vibe associated with a beer from brazil just make it worth it. Damn glad to have had it.

Bottle, probably from late 2003 or 2004 (not a huge turnover for stuff like this). Light corn and nuttiness in the nose, with some minerals and a bit of light chalk. Simple, pale-yellow appearance with a small ring of foamy, white head. I’m not seeing the roasted barley, though there is some saltiness and something bolstering the mostly light body. Seems like a below-average pale lager to me. Though it certainly wasnt a drain pour, IMHO. Wasn’t skunked and didnt have much staleness to it. A bit of metal on the end. I’ll stick to Modelo Especial for now, though I’ve got a large amount of tropical lagers to get through at my local store so the hunt is still on for a great pale lager!
