yobdoog (367), Woodridge, New York, USA Aug 10, 2008 Tap @ BCTC. Only sample I got two of just to make sure I really did like it as much as I did. A bit creamy and buttery. Silky smooth like a werthers original. Cloudy dark yellow oorange with a creamy head. Very drinkable. Hints of spice, and bananas and sweet oak and vanilla. Very nice. swoopjones (1100), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 6, 2008 Sample @ BCTC 2008. Was exicited to see something I have never heard of from Sam. Pours a creamy orangish amber color.Aroma is kind of funky hefe. Almost a buttery aroma. Had some weizen characteristics with some strange sourness TURDFERGUSON (1125), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Aug 5, 2008 Draft @ BCTC. Pretty excited to see this at the fest. Pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Nose of banana, cloves and malt sweetness. Flavor is similar with a bit of alcohol, but for the most part its well hidden. Unlike many at the fest, I enjoyed this and thought it was a nice change of pace compared to most of the beers at the fest. beastiefan2k (1101), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Aug 4, 2008 BCTC’08. This was the only non-sour beer I was interested in at the fest. The second beer I tried. Aroma is very ester-y and lots of sweetness. The combination produces some nose prickling banana puree and sugar cane. Taste is similar. Its an "esters and sweetness gone wild" type of brew. What could probably be considered the first Imperial Hefe. Fortunately, I like that type of beer. Reign in the sweetness a little but, give it some more refinement and then you have a real winner. TomDecapolis (2407), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 4, 2008 BCTC 08. Pours a hazy golden/amber with a medium creamy white head that laced. Aroma was kind of cereal like, lots of wheat with a touch of some banana/clove/citrus. Flavor was a match, maybe more yeast in the flavor. I wasn’t too impressed.
