Commercial Description:
This traditional lager is medium in body with a deep roasted character. Its dark color and rich malty flavor come from specially roasted caramel and chocolate malts. This brew is lightly hopped with Noble Bavarian hops for a soft spiciness and a smooth clean finish. Cheers!

dark brown, perhaps black pour with noted khaki head. Lots of chocolate and roasted malts. Pretty thin.

black pour with a tan head. Aroma is chocolatey, some liquid smoke. Flavor is full and chocolatey. Slight bit of hops in the finish. Nice beer.

Pours black. Moderate beige head. Pleasant aroma with chocolate and smoke flavors evident. Diminishing head with good lacing throughout. Smooth, nice finish. Part of SA Holiday Brewmaster’s Pack. Enjoyable but would probably not buy in quantity.

12oz bottle. Pours night black with small beige head. not much of an aroma. Tastes very roasted with burnt chocolate. Pretty watery. Not that much flavor, but a pretty descent beer.

Pours black, obviously, but not totally opague. Sweet malts and honey smell. Flavor is malts, honey and some raisins. Like most Samuel Adams offerings, this is solid in both flavor and smell. Not overly complex, but good.

A great example of the possiblities of lagers other than being golden and boring. Think of this beer like a porter that you can see through. Rich malty flavor and a slight bitter alcohol finish.
