Mostly diminishing head. Soft carbonation. Medium malty and roasted, sweet feel. Smells dark bread, grain, hints of chocolate and coffe. Light citrus and a bit of leather. Very light touch of raisin and vanilla as well somewhere out there. Light sweet flavor with moderate bitterness , nice and pretty long finish. Not as good as the top dark czech dark lagers but a very good and very drinkable version of it. Cheers! hirigalzkar (601), Stockholm, Sweden

The head rose to about 2 inches and fell to almost nothing. Left good lacing. Smell was weet roasty and toasty malts. Taste was mooth, sweet, and malty. Nothing complex, but it is a nice drinkable dark beer.

Roast-malty aroma with a rather complex spectrum of notes of caramel, cacao, coffee and hints of licorice, even subtle berry-fruity notes are detectable. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with an almost creamy mf. Roasty malty taste with predominant notes of mocha and licorice. Moderately dry, burnt bitter and quite lasting finish with a rounded malty sweetness. A well-made Schwarzbier from the US [11.XII.08]. zvikar (436), Tel-Aviv, Israel
