Commercial Description:
This traditional lager is medium in body with a deep roasted character. Its dark color and rich malty flavor come from specially roasted caramel and chocolate malts. This brew is lightly hopped with Noble Bavarian hops for a soft spiciness and a smooth clean finish. Cheers!

Bottle. Poured a black color with a thin brown head. Aroma and flavor of roasted malt, with a slight hop background. Good beer.

pours a dark brown with a decent frothy head, slow to dissipate. Aroma is pretty basic, mostly malt and hops, maybe a touch of caramel. Flavor is thick with roasted malt, dark chocolate, and some sweetness- probably the caramel again- nicely balanced for a sam adams. Palate is good, stays strong but not overbearing in any way. One of Boston Beer Co’s better offerings.

Poured black with a nice tan head that lasted through the glass. The aroma isn’t anything exciting, slightly hoppy but mostly malt. The flavor is very smooth, crisp and clean like a lager should be with a touch of chocolate maltiness thrown in. Overall its not bad but I was not really impressed with this beer. There was something slightly off with it as well, but I couldn’t quite pin it down.

Bottle poured into frosted glass. Dark brown in color with a very think, dark tan head. A bit of roasted chocolate in the nose, not very strong. Mostly caramel and roasted malts in the taste, but not too overbearing - very drinkable. Would make a good session beer.

Deep, very dark black in colour; essence of treacle in aroma with wisps of malt combining to give a sweet scent; very smooth dark roasted taste, you get the traces of treacle in there but it is the strong, deep roasted bitterness that envelops the mouth

Pours brownish black with a medium to small tan head. Nose of smoke and dark chocolate. Came across the palate dried dark fruits and light sweet malt, caramel, & hints of coffee. Slight bitter finish.
