Had 2 with one thick head that lasted throughout and one medium head that lasted most way. Good lacing. Nice dark chocolate and coffee aroma. Semi-sweet chocolate and espresso bean flavor with just enough bitterness to balance. Really enjoyed and will pick up again in 6-pack. lweiberg (89), Eagan, Minnesota, USA

It’s the rediculous amount of hops they throw in their beers! Although I must say I like them, they’re all different, yet similar in taste (at least thats the impression I get). It’s dark, rich robust flavor kinda reminds me of drinking a Guinness. The black lager is one of my favorites. On a cold day served slightly chilled almost room temperature can warm even the darkest souls. petermadsen (391), Vesterbronxxx, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2008 A schwarzbier with a huge head and a nice aroma of dark malt and some spicy hops.
The flavour is crisp and quenching with a fine balance between roasted hops, notes of fruit and the crips dry finish. A fine one! OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA

I thought it would be like a porter but it lacked much of the roasty, chocolate taste and thickness. I would rather drink michelob porter. jjuf1853 (471), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Bottle pours a pitch black color with a foamy tan head that quickly recedes, but leave some nice lacing along the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and caramel. Very nice flavor with a smooth mouthfeel. Slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Good balance between the malts and hops.
