Commercial Description:
This traditional lager is medium in body with a deep roasted character. Its dark color and rich malty flavor come from specially roasted caramel and chocolate malts. This brew is lightly hopped with Noble Bavarian hops for a soft spiciness and a smooth clean finish. Cheers!

35cl bottle from Systembolaget, Strømstad. It poured a black body with a dark creamy head that settles down quickly. It smells of coffee, malts and dark chocolate. The flavor is very much like the aroma, heavy on the coffee and malts with a hint of chocolate. The aftertaste is long and nice. I’d say it’s more porter than black lager.

This beer has a nice dark malty flavor. Notes of coffe and a little hint of chocolate. What I like about this beer the most is the hop character and aroma. It is suprizingly nice. Just the right kind of hops for this beer too. I love darkly roasted malts and I love hops. Great balance in this beer.

Bottle. Poured jet black (or deep red when under light) with a disappearing caramel-colored head. Aromatic nose of dark chocolate and perhaps coffee as well. Reminds me of Guinness but not as heavy. Creamy mouth feel, bitter taste is not too strong. Overall a very good Schwarzbier.
