Commercial Description:
This traditional lager is medium in body with a deep roasted character. Its dark color and rich malty flavor come from specially roasted caramel and chocolate malts. This brew is lightly hopped with Noble Bavarian hops for a soft spiciness and a smooth clean finish. Cheers!

Pours a very deep brown with a milk-white head. Aroma is burnt fruits, deep caramel, burnt toast, and a touch of diacetly. The body is med with a refreshing amount of CO2. The flavors are very much on the sweet end. Very malty with a lot of Munich muscle. The finish is sweet and lasting. While this is not what I see as a Schwarzbier, it is a very good American take on a style.

(br-btl bk/yw-lbl, mix pack, 5%, 10¢/oz)

sweet-malty §schwartz T1, sweet-dark-malt lager §hop-leaf T2, dry T3.

smooth and refreshing, especially if drank cold on a warm autumn day, hops barely detectable, too metallic, too top-of-the-tongue.

Fairly good beer. Slightly hoppy, but missing some flavors I had hoped to find.

12 oz bottle. Pour was dark brown with a small tan head. Nose is roasted malt, spicy hops with some coffee and chocolate notes. Medium to full smooth body. Flavors begin with sweet roasted malts, chocolate and some earthy hops, while finish is dry with coffee notes. Quite tasty beer from SA.

12 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour was cola with three fingers of light tan head. Nose is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and a hint of earth. Taste is black liquorices, light caramel, and trademark lager characteristics. Kind of odd this brew, it tastes like the light, wet body/pallet of a lager, but somewhere threw in roasted malts and black liquorices. Not bad, but I can’t say I really like it either. Strange brew!

My mouth is filled with the flavor of coffee beans and chocolate malt. This beer has a very clear and defined roasted taste and aroma. Not my favorite, but it’s not a bad beer.

12oz bottle. Pours a very nice dark brown color with a lasting 2-finger beige head and some lacing. Aroma is roast, anise, chocolate, coffee, earth, and caramel. Flavor is nice with chocolate and caramel malts, substantial anise, roast, and a touch of earthy coffee. Long finish and a smooth mouthfeel with medium body. Nice offering from Boston Beer.
