Commercial Description:
The blackberries we use in Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier are perfect for this brew. They deliver a subtle sweetness that balances the traditional citrus flavors from the witbier. The blackberries used in Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier are sourced from family farms, located at the foot of the Oregon Trail and Cascade Mountains in Western Oregon, where they have been growing some of the best blackberries in the world for centuries. By bringing the blackberries, orange and coriander together with an appealing malt character and a spiciness from the hops, we’ve brewed a flavorful beer with a smooth finish that’s both sweet and tart. Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier is brewed with two-row Harrington and Metcalfe malted barley and generous portions of malted wheat. The malted barley and malted wheat provide the beer with its light body while the coriander and orange give the beer its citrus like aromas. We’ve also added some Oregon Marion blackberries, to give the brew a perfect balance between its subtly sweet and tart flavors.

Not much of the wit characteristics I was looking for, and certainly not enough to counteract the overdone, overly sweet, and artificial tasting blackberry flavors. Not a repeatable beer for me.

Bottle. Pours a deep hazy golden. Smell is a very inviting berry aroma, but the blackberry taste is shallow and a bit cough syrupy. Not really a fan.

Pours hazy amber with a large creamy white head and good lacing. Nose is grain and berry. Taste is berry, spice and medicine. The flavors didn’t mesh for me; not a fan of this one.

Bottle: Poured an orange with a white head. The aroma was berries. The flavor was watered down, faint berries and sweet. Just alright.

I was hoping for more from this beer. Didn’t get the berries as much as I thought I would. Golden pour with a good white head, aroma of berries and grains. Flavor has a little berries, some sweetness. An ok beer.

Well, thats kind of a mess. Pours a wheaty golden color with a nice head, and smells like berries and grain. Taste is anything but great.Light berry flavor, some wheat and some spice. Very sweet and not done well. Surprise.

Pours a hazy orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is berries, malt, wheat and a little medicinal. Flavor is wheat, berries, spices, a little acidity. Not bad.

bottle. pours a deep golden with a quarter inch white head... some sweet berry notes surround the nose at first, while some underlying citrus from the coriander and orange come through as well... medium body with a bit of spice towards the tip... mild fruit notes fill the mouth with a nice marriage of malted wheat... overall, this is a really nice fruit wit that delivers a touch of tartness along with a more robust fruit and wheat presence... very enjoyable and very drinkable....
