Commercial Description:
The blackberries we use in Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier are perfect for this brew. They deliver a subtle sweetness that balances the traditional citrus flavors from the witbier. The blackberries used in Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier are sourced from family farms, located at the foot of the Oregon Trail and Cascade Mountains in Western Oregon, where they have been growing some of the best blackberries in the world for centuries. By bringing the blackberries, orange and coriander together with an appealing malt character and a spiciness from the hops, we’ve brewed a flavorful beer with a smooth finish that’s both sweet and tart. Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier is brewed with two-row Harrington and Metcalfe malted barley and generous portions of malted wheat. The malted barley and malted wheat provide the beer with its light body while the coriander and orange give the beer its citrus like aromas. We’ve also added some Oregon Marion blackberries, to give the brew a perfect balance between its subtly sweet and tart flavors.

Hazy copper color with visible bubbles and little head. Strong aromas of blackberry and sweet malt wheat. Palate is a little thin and moderately carbonated. Refreshing taste of berries and malt, although the taste disappears quickly. Would be a good summer sessions beer.

Bottle. Aroma of blackberry, wheat, and coriander. On the tastebuds, lots of blackberry, with coriander some orange and wheat. Not bad for a style that is not one of my favorites.

A cloudy yellow appearance with a white head. The aroma is nice with some blackberries of course, citrus, and coriander. The flavor is a little less inspiring but "clean" with some blackberries, lemons, and spices. A bit of syrupy texture exists in the aftertaste. I really have nothing to complain about if this were $5 a sixer I’d pound this all summer long. But it aint. Overall good lawnmower effort.

I wasn’t really a fan of this one. I got this in one of those Summer Samplers and honestly it taste like medicine. The appearance and aroma are average but the taste is below average. Tastes artificial.

12oz bottle from Orland Park Binnys. Pours golden orange with a small ring of white lacing. Aroma is of blackberry, wheat, and spice. The blackberry tends to dominate the aroma. Taste is of blackberry, wheat, and spice. There is more blackberry in the aroma than in the taste. Mouthfeel is creamy. Slight lingering berry taste. This beer tastes more like a light beer drank in an unwashed glass with the residue of a previous beer still in it. Very weak and bland, but not harsh like some of their fruit beers tend to be. I’ve had worse from them.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small, fizzy, white head, diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, grain), light hop (citrus), average yeast (dough) with notes of blackberries. Light bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.
