Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Boston Ale was first brewed to celebrate the opening of our Boston Brewery. Like Samuel Adams Boston Lager®, it was an old family recipe that was rescued by Jim Koch from his father’s attic. Samuel Adams® Boston Ale, a Stock Ale, has a complex, caramel malt character balanced with distinct spicy and herbal hop notes. Our proprietary ale yeast imparts a variety of fruit and ester notes in both the nose and flavor which are indicative of the style. Stock Ale, one of the few classic beer styles to have originated in the United States, has a strong New England heritage. The style draws its name from the cool "stock cellars" in which it was aged. This technique imparted a smoothness and body which became the hallmark of this style. Keeping with the Stock Ale style, Samuel Adams® Boston Ale is fermented at cooler almost lager like temperatures and conditioned much longer than most ales. It also is Krausened and dry hopped.

A socialable drink, not to be replaced with a more sustainable brew, but nonetheless it is a classic by name. Pours an auburn color with a moderate, creamy head. Smooth carbonation, with a bit of a caramel aroma.

12 ozbotlle. Pours a ruby clear amber. Nose is sweet but well balnced with hops. I would not say that this is a fav from the co. but it will do.

Always a good choice. The Boston Ale has a golden amber color with good clarity and carbonation. It forms a thick off white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Its aroma is malty sweet with a hint of honey and floral hops. On the tongue the malts are bready and lightly toasty. The hops are light and have a nice piney and citrus bitterness that fades slowly into the finish. I really like the balance on this ale and I fined it to be very drinkable and refreshing. Cheers!

Copper pour with a tall off-white head and great lacing. Nutty, bready malt aroma with a nice balance of spicy noble hops. Nutty caramel malt flavor with notes of spice and pine. Creamy medium body with a crisp finish.

Thanks to my daddy for this one!!Amber with a fine foamy baige head. Aroma is medium hobby, mostly pine hobs along with a delicious caramel sweetness. In the flavor the sweetness is moderate. Along with the caramel sweetness comes some fruity raisin notes and after awhile i taste some soaked grainy bread, the hobs are present but in the background compared to the sweetness.

Beautiful color and head at pour. Just about the perfect looking beer. Deep amber color and lingering creamy vanilla colored head. Not much of a nose, slight fruit but not all that apparent. Sweet, raisiny at first then sweet bread followed by an almost creamy floral finish. Fantastic brew. This is one of my favorites from Uncle Sam. I like it more then the lager.

Coppery orange in color with a really foamy head. Nice roasted caramel malt taste with a weak bitter aftertaste which makes for smooth drinking. Aroma is hard to detect but that may be me and spring time allergies. Overall its a very nice amber, smooth drinking with a decent complexity in flavor. Nice!
