Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Boston Ale was first brewed to celebrate the opening of our Boston Brewery. Like Samuel Adams Boston Lager®, it was an old family recipe that was rescued by Jim Koch from his father’s attic. Samuel Adams® Boston Ale, a Stock Ale, has a complex, caramel malt character balanced with distinct spicy and herbal hop notes. Our proprietary ale yeast imparts a variety of fruit and ester notes in both the nose and flavor which are indicative of the style. Stock Ale, one of the few classic beer styles to have originated in the United States, has a strong New England heritage. The style draws its name from the cool "stock cellars" in which it was aged. This technique imparted a smoothness and body which became the hallmark of this style. Keeping with the Stock Ale style, Samuel Adams® Boston Ale is fermented at cooler almost lager like temperatures and conditioned much longer than most ales. It also is Krausened and dry hopped.

Less sweet, more bitter than the Boston Lager- I like this one a bit better. Rich, roasted, caramel malt flavor followed by a subtle hop bitterness. Mmmmmm.

Not much to say that hasn’t been already. Amber color, nice malty sweet nose with hint of floral hops. Nice even balanced flavor, and decent finish.

Something is just missing from this. This is one of the first micros I drank, so it’ll always rate high in my mind, but there’s something missing to keep me from rating it higher.

Deep and clear amber color. Nose is very malty with hints of lemongrass and hops. Light to medium bodied, nicely carbonated. Pretty good, just missing some bang.

12oz bottle part of the summer mix pack, pours a darl golden color with a nice white lasting head, nice malt flavors, could see this as being a nice session beer, tastes good, would buy again if there wasn’t anything better.

Flaske. Positivt overrasket over denne kobberfarvet øl. Ydede en rigtig god præstation i forhold til forventningerne.

This beer pours as smooth as it drinks, has a perfect tan, and has a mixture of hops and wheat that is just right to make this one of the better beers I have drank.

Pours a nice deep copper color with a decent sized head. Lacing is good. Head retention good. Aromas are minimal, but does have that distinct Sam Adams smell. Good flavor, complex malt character with a good hop balance at the end. Not much of an aftertaste, but taste is still decently good.
