Rich amber color with a medium white head from a bottle. Smell was of sweet caramel like malt, and almost a touch of alcohol or tartness to go along with it. Taste was very mild bittering hops, but mostly of sweet sticky caramel, and a touch of unique tartness. Definitely a slightly unique amber, from my experiences, and I’d say, slightly above average as well.

Sep 3, 2008 Previously I was not a Sam Adams fan but I really liked this one..even though it was out of my lighter beer wheelhouse. Easy to drink, lots of tiny bubbles (for those of you who care). An interesting (burnt?) after taste. Really good beer that would go good with food or by itself.

Sep 3, 2008 Unexpected roasted and caramel flavors. There is a creamy texture to it also found in the aroma. Not a brilliant beer but a solid effort.

Aug 29, 2008 Grabbed this in a Sam Adams mix pack. I would compare this to the Boston Lager. It’s pleasant, and I enjoy it. Nothing great to say though.
