ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Apr 27, 2008 Beautiful color and head at pour. Just about the perfect looking beer. Deep amber color and lingering creamy vanilla colored head. Not much of a nose, slight fruit but not all that apparent. Sweet, raisiny at first then sweet bread followed by an almost creamy floral finish. Fantastic brew. This is one of my favorites from Uncle Sam. I like it more then the lager.
SuperDave70 (822), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 5, 2008 Clear amber pour with a foamy head. Aroma is mostly sweet toasty malt, with just a hint of spicy citrus hop. Flavor is big on the caramel malt as well. There is a good hoppy bite on the finish. Not too complex, but pretty good. borgination (78), Lee, Massachusetts, USA Oct 5, 2008 Good. Coppery red appearance. Nice creamy white head. Strong, malty aroma caramel, sweetness. Nice malty flavor with a bite in the end. Not too strong on hops but not weak either. Flavor doesn’t have the taste that the aroma promises. WesKBob (161), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Sep 28, 2008 Pours a clear copper, amber color. Medium creamy white head with excellent retention and good lacing. Aroma is mild, with bread and roasted malt notes. Flavor is similar, with just a hint of caramel sweetness and a decent hop bite. A very nice, well-balanced beer. BMan1113VR (905), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Sep 27, 2008 Pours with a large, rocky, off-white head. Clear chestnut hued body. Aroma of sugar, light hops and caramel malts. Taste is a bit stale, some spicey hops and carboard with malt. None of the nice hop profile of Boston Lager. Somewhat fizzy. srichter18 (2), Colchester, Vermont, USA does not count Sep 27, 2008 It’s a great beer, I really enjoy them on the rare occasions that I get them. Pretty hoppy, but has a great flavor to it.
