Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams® Boston Ale was first brewed to celebrate the opening of our Boston Brewery. Like Samuel Adams Boston Lager®, it was an old family recipe that was rescued by Jim Koch from his father’s attic. Samuel Adams® Boston Ale, a Stock Ale, has a complex, caramel malt character balanced with distinct spicy and herbal hop notes. Our proprietary ale yeast imparts a variety of fruit and ester notes in both the nose and flavor which are indicative of the style. Stock Ale, one of the few classic beer styles to have originated in the United States, has a strong New England heritage. The style draws its name from the cool "stock cellars" in which it was aged. This technique imparted a smoothness and body which became the hallmark of this style. Keeping with the Stock Ale style, Samuel Adams® Boston Ale is fermented at cooler almost lager like temperatures and conditioned much longer than most ales. It also is Krausened and dry hopped.

Samuel Adams continually makes solid beers that many different people can enjoy. This one is no exception. Nice aroma, frothy head that sustains itself over the course of the drink, and a slightly bitter pinch. I have grown to love this brand very much, and they seem to care about the beer more than the opinions of big rating mags. That being said, the company’s integrity is an example other larger companies should follow!

This is a nice variance of the Sam Adams family of beers. I enjoyed this beer and like the maltiness and absence of an overwhelming hops taste. Pretty good beer for an everyday drink.

( 12oz bottle thanks to mar) pours clear amber with nice oily head and good lacing. Nose of light citrus hops, oranges, and caramel. Taste is dirty water, earth, toasted caramel. Nice oily body with a slightly bittersweet finish.

Classic American Ale, with a very easy finish and crisp spicy hops. This is another excellent offering from a very good brewery

A good beer for dowsing your thirst. Nice colour, mild taste. A good lager-substitute.

Draught: Poured a light amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma was a mix of toffee, caramel, and hops. Taste was a nice smooth mix of caramel and hops. A nice beer, however the cost at the JFK airport is ridiculous...$10.33!

Bottle. Pours a copper color with a thin, foamy beige head. Taste is of malt, caramel and some hops. Rather bitter. Similar aroma. Decent mouthful. Reminds me a non-alcoholic. Drinkable, refreshing and slightly enjoyable, but not that great.
