| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2009 On tap at the Sam Adams Brewery, Boston MA, 6 November 2009 (also available at Doyles in case they don’t have it on the tour). The tour guide assured me this is a unique recipe available only on draught at a limited number of establishments in Boston itself. Some sort of charity thing going on that I didn’t quite pick up on. Described by the guide as an English style ale made with EKGs and the (not so English) Spalt hops. Reddish colour. Tan head. Nice condition. Slightly earthy aroma. Clean and distinctly fruity. Good balance. Not big but well balanced and tasty. As with most beers, this seemed at its best fresh at the brewery (I presume they make it in Boston).

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 3, 2009 Draft at the brewery tour. They said this can only be had on tap in select Boston area pubs. No plans to bottle. I noticed that they had it at the Union Oyster House the night I visited. Poured a clear ruddy dark orange color. The head was off white and left some lace behind on the glass. The aroma was subdued overall with hints of toffee, cherry, and spicy malt. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Dryish up front with some delicate sugars emerging at the end. The flavor profile included the likes of earthy/grassy hops, subdued toffee, and a hint of graham cracker crust. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 15, 2009 Tap handle says "Boston Brick Red". Pours clear red into a shaker. Tan head with medium retention recedes leaving little lacing. Slight caramel aromas. Crisp yet full with caramel and bright pit fruit. Slight hops to the finish. I don’t believe this version is 9.9%.... LilBeerDoctor (1547), East Setauket, New York, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Tap a ways back. Expectedly dull, sweet, vaguely caramelly malt, maybe a hint of red fruit, or maybe it was just the word red in the name that had me thinking that. The definition of boring.
