BillyM (149), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Mar 11, 2009 A nice clean beer that is tastefully above most similarly priced lagers. Smooth and clean without being watery. A nice semi-full malty mouth feel with a balancing hops taste & a hint of citrus. xs2500 (90), Mississippi, USA Mar 9, 2009 This is a good cheap goto lager, its has a good taste that pairs well with most American foods and it is common enough to find it in most locations. pulykamell (4), USA does not count Mar 9, 2009 As far as American Lagers go, this is still one of my favorites. My introduction to craft brews in the early-mid 90s, this will always have a soft spot in my heart. A nice balance of malt and hops, very tea-like with a hint of citrus. Great session beer. Elwood (667), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Mar 9, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Orangish gold color with a small white head that quickly dissipates. Sweet, malty nose with hints of honey, melon, and floral notes. Medium high carbonation with a rich mouthfeel. Definite hop bitterness that you won’t see in all of the macros. Good malt flavor with tastes of spice, grass, and an a touch of pine. The bitterness lingers on the palate, but overall there is a good clean finish. A very solid beer that is a big step away from the other mass produced lagers out there. mickjay77 (15), Amarillo, Texas, USA Mar 8, 2009 [Look]: Amber/copper color with a nice head.
[Smell]: Sweet maltiness, floral/piney from the hops, hint of citrus. Very nice aroma.
[Taste]: Nice caramel malts, floral hops, hint of citrus (orange peel) and piney. Very smooth finish. Medium bodied.
[Overall]: Great beer! Almost reminds me an ESB, but a lager version of ESB. Highly drinkable!! thornecb (1736), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Mar 8, 2009 Pours pale amber into a Sam glass. Bright white head quickly recedes to sicken surface. Biscuit and cookie aromas. Crisp and malty, mild sour hop finish. Thylacine (237), Tasmania, Australia Mar 5, 2009 Bottle - Orange with off white head. Medium body and carbonation. Sweet malty caramel background with fruity, citrus/floral hop flavours. Slight grassy notes at the end. Medium bitterness. A very pleasant and refreshing lager.
