jamvin23 (162), chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 16, 2009 Bottle. Medium light creamy body. Initially malty but flavors develop on the palate and hoppiness becomes apparent at the finish stonesean (3), Stuttgart, Germany does not count Feb 16, 2009 I’ve chosen this to be my first rating because this is the beer that most Americans should seek when they’ve decided that a Miller or a Bud just isn’t doing it for them any more.
This is the very essence of a "good" beer.
Pleasing red-gold color, near perfect hop aroma, a decent malt flavor, though I prefer a stronger maltiness, perhaps it should last longer?
Fine lacing on the glass let’s you know you indeed have the good stuff.
I have a friend in Stuttgart that carries "beers of the world cup" in his pub around World Cup tournament time, this is the one that represents the USA, and most Germans are pleasanly suprised. trayns (237), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA Feb 16, 2009 Bottle. Everyone knows this beer, nice malt taste, full body. Bar Staple, go-to when your at a bar with a very limited selection. njbfr (105), New Jersey, USA Feb 15, 2009 Pour is reddish gold with a pretty thick white head. Floral aroma of hops fills the nose. Pretty floral hop flavor with a light malt finish that you wish would linger just a little longer. Finish is clean but kind of abrupt. LordCorkscrew (939), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy Feb 15, 2009 Per essere una lager è decisamente un prodotto di caratura non comune, mi piacerebbe che sbarcassero in Italia più lager di questo tipo e invece arriva la Bud (come sa bene Andrea Parodi). givemebeeer (5), erlangar, Kentucky, USA does not count Feb 14, 2009 this stuff is great. not too strong but not water down either. this was my gateway from light beers to more complex stuff. used to drink it all the time in my party days. nice malty smell. very distinct taste. good finish almost citrus like. Pours a golden amber, with a slight head. Aroma is subtle malt. Favor is hops and malt with a caramel-sitrus finish. One of the best American macro lagers out there, so this is a great choice when visiting your local bar/restaurant.
