revans (35), Salem, Ohio, USA Feb 3, 2009 Just not that into this beer. Nice color though. Taste is a bit off. But it really does nothing for me. DeutschesBier (9), , New Jersey, USA does not count Jan 31, 2009 One of my all time favorites! A huge fan of anything made by the Boston Beer Company!
This lager is so good, most of my foreign friends drink and enjoy it!
Outstanding hop aroma and flavor, one of the freshest tasting beers available. Excellentt maltiness comes through on every sip, counterbalanced extremely well by the pleasant bitterness. Creamy head that you can stand your beer cap on! An excellent world class beer! gringo332 (236), Richardson, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is of earthy hops, malt, grain, caramel, and sweet fruit. Taste is of very earthy hops, grain, and caramel malt. Very malty mouthfeel. Nothing overly special, but it drinks easy. Nice alternative to macro swill. brewski519 (395), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA Jan 31, 2009 This is the one that started it all for me years ago - until Sam Adams Boston Lager came out I didn’t know there was anything beyond the Macros out there. This beer is more like a Macro these days with all of the newer small micro brews out there now but it still has a solid malt, pine and caramel aroma with a solid malt, earthy taste to it. Still a solid choice if the bar your in doesn’t offer the array of craft beers. Beats ordering a Bud. Agaguk (118), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jan 30, 2009 Appearence: Clear orange light brown with a creamy offwhite head. Very nice lacing.Aroma: First nose, this beer releases a nice sent of spruce mixed with orange zest, pear and hops.Flavor: Light salty tastes followed by spruce, citrus and hops.Palate: Light, fizzy with a chalky bitter finish. But overall well balanced.
popkow (107), New York, New York, USA Jan 29, 2009 The original that started the micro brew trend. The hops are the major influence on this beer which are heavy. Always provides great lacing and a an even head this beer is good all the way around. Hbuck72 (122), Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA Jan 26, 2009 One of my favorite beers.
Dark brown in color, not a whole lot of carbonation, nice white head.
The taste full of carmel malt and spices. Very good beer. TungstenGT (33), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Jan 26, 2009 Not one of my favorite beers from them. I will say that when at a restaurant, I will choose this over most of their offerings when its Bud/miller/coors/etc.
