Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world's oldest hops growing area. Among the world's most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

I won’t try to describe the flavors in this beer, others can do that much better than I can. What I can say is that this beer has a certain depth of flavor which changes as the liquid sits on the tongue. I would describe the character as almost earthy. A very drinkable beer.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Amber colour and short lasting head. Malty flavour with a little hoppy after taste. A bit to high carbonation.

This might get shit flug at it by some ,but I think its a good, non-’Pisener’ type or Lager :Very honest stuff. You feel the integrity or something. Pleseant caramel, malty aromas-with some dusty hops. Its sweet ,and dry tasting, with some fruit like (apple and pear) reminds me of Earl gray tea. Feels more like an ale : Kinda floral hopped ,with caramel in the base. Good flavoured & swillable.

Clear gold with 1 cm white head. Sweet generic beer aroma. Taste is substantially more interesting, with nice citrusy hop bitterness and bready malt into the finish. Fruity yeast notes in the aftertaste

Pours a light semi-transparent copper with a medium off-white head and moderate lacing. Medium aroma of sweet malt . Flavor of hops and caramel malt. In terms of mass produced beers, this one is up there.

Not a beer that is going to blow your socks off but a well balanced lager that you can drink all night. There is a slight citrus taste and hops are mild. This is a beer for your friend who always drank Bud, Coors and Miller and now wants to get a little more adventurous.

overall, and all around good beer. nothing exceptional, but nothing really bad to say either. has a nice balance of flavors. Good go to beer, especially when your other options are coors, coors light, bud, bud light......
