Jan 19, 2009 Not a beer that is going to blow your socks off but a well balanced lager that you can drink all night. There is a slight citrus taste and hops are mild. This is a beer for your friend who always drank Bud, Coors and Miller and now wants to get a little more adventurous.

Jan 15, 2009 Bottle. Golden brown pour with medium amount of carbonation. The pleasant aroma of Sam Adams hops that got me into craft brews years ago. Flavor of malt, caramel and finshed lightly hoppy. A good standby whenever my favorite local micro isn’t on tap.

Jan 14, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a medium white head. Nice hop bitterness. It has a slight citrus and spicy taste. It’s very full bodied for a lager. An exceptional beer.

Jan 7, 2009 Updated: Sep 13, 2009Bottle pour into new Samuel Adams Lager Glass. Clear amber color with moderat off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts and hops, less evident than the malts. Very well balanced beer, and IMO at the top of its category, a premium lager. The more I drink this beer I appreciate it for what it is - a very good beer when often the only other choices are from BMC. Excellent session beer and like I said the more I give this beer a chance, the more it impresses me. Cheers! Updated once again August 16, 2009. After months of experimentation I have decided this is my new craft "go-to" beer, in the mass distribution category. Cheers to S.A. Boston Lager - you never let me down!

Jan 3, 2009 Pours a nice, clear amber with off-white head. Nice, floral hops aroma.
Smooth palate with some hops bitterness...maybe it’s b/c I’ve been drinking hoppier beers, but seems less flavorful than when I first had it. Still, worthwhile and a solid choice, if nothing else for helping open up the microbrewing market to the public instead of leaving us with budcoorsmiller.

Dec 31, 2008 Poured with a nice white head that subsided to a 1/8 stripe. Smelled of caramel and a hint of grain. Tasted really sweet that started with caramel and ended with a small amount of spicy bitter hopping. Full bodied. Not bad at all.
