Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world's oldest hops growing area. Among the world's most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

Bottle, 355ml. Pours clear amber, with half-decent white head, with some lacing. Decent aroma of hops, and full-bodied yeast, sweet malt, with notes of toffee on the palate. A good, well-rounded, lager.

Bottle. Dark orange colour with a small off-white head. Sweet, hoppy aroma. Nice aromatic hoppy flavour with fruits and sweet malts. Medium-bodied, quite smooth and slight bitterness in the finish. Good, balanced lager.

Hands down the best mass produced domestic beer. Unlike other "lagers" that are produced in the USA, this one actually has some substance. Full bodied, aromas of spices, hops, a hint of malt. Pours deep tawny brown, great head. It’s a quality beer, no doubt about it.

Pours a brassy color with about a finger worth of white head. The aroma actually speaks of hops blended with wheat and yeast. The wheat taste hits upfront followed by a yeasty flavor. The hops do not hit until the finish where their earthy presence can be picked up. Rather well balanced for a lager. As always with Sam, the carbonation is a bit much, but the viscosity is just fine. This is a very drinkable brew. I wasn’t always a fan of this brew probably due to it’s slightly watery quality but it has grown on me. Still, I think this brew is way over-hyped, just my opinion. Bottle. Pours a golden-brown with a decent off white head that lasts. Taste is of caramel, malt and hops. A little sweet, but well balanced and has a good mouthfeel. Aroma is much the same. Overall, this is a pretty good beer for the price and is rather enjoyable. Worth having again.

I can’t add much more than the previous 2300 posts, but this is an alright beer. I’ll drink this over Bud Light or Coors any day. It’s a commonly found beer that isn’t piss.

On-tap - Samuel Adams booth, Epcot Food & Wine Festival, Walt Disney World, FL. Light cracker malt backbone with some floral notes and a somewhat spicy component. Some slight peppery notes as well. Probably the best drink you can get on a Disney park.

Decent go-to beer. Good light toasted malt backbone, some floral hop notes, obviously a tad thin but what do you expect.
