TKA300 (99), Carbondale, Illinois, USA Oct 10, 2008 Updated: Jul 8, 2009Great amber color, off white head. Smelled a bit of caramel. Great flavor with a solid finish. Great balance, great lager. fidelis83 (707), Clinton, Iowa, USA Oct 10, 2008 Pours clear amberish copper, with a medium off white head that lasts a while. Aroma is toast and caramel malts lager yeast, floral and citrus hops. Flavor offers a pretty decent malt complexity up front, barley cereal, followed by caramel, fresh made pasta, sourdough crust, and a little straw. Hops run the gamut floral then citrus and pine in the middle then bitter toward the end. Finish is bitter hops and some lingering bready malts. A very good lager that really could use a little more hops to be perfect but has a great balance and flavor profile-especially for an American Lager-to make it a really good beer that appeals to alot of people. lax7584 (31), Deer Park, New York, USA Oct 10, 2008 This is a great beer that is always a good choice. I love the aroma and taste that is produced from the ample amount of hops that are used. It would have to be my most favorite lager. sivadsemaj (1), lexington, Kentucky, USA does not count Oct 8, 2008 This is my standby at returants. I think that as far as market lagers go this should be the great American lager v64 (74), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 7, 2008 Definitely a favorite of mine out of the typical beers you can get just about anywhere. Small head, nice floral aroma balanced with a touch of malt, light amber in appearance. Well balanced hop flavor, but a touch too watery, not as full bodied as it should be. I wouldn’t turn one down though, it’s a solid beer in my book. joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA Oct 6, 2008 In my opinion which doesnt count for sh** I would have to say this is the best American lager on the market I can say nothing negative about it is just great shawn14505 (34), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 3, 2008 If you ever go out to a chain resturant for dinner (think Applebees, Olive Garden, Chilis) then this is probably the best beer you will find on tap. This old reliable has saved me countelss times when the only other choices were coors light, bud light, etc. This is a decent beer, completely respectable in everyway, yet not god enough to compete with the craft brews such as Stone, Southern Tier, etc. OleR (2008), Oslo, Norway Oct 3, 2008 355 ml bottle, 4.8% abv. A firm, mostly lasting yellowish-white head. Brilliant, deep golden colored body. Beautiful malt aroma; suitable sweet, lightly toasted with pepper and caramel notes. Also a whiff of dark dried fruits and grassy hops. Taste has a nice sourish malt profile with a distinct bitterness. Notes of herbs and unripe fruits. Medium body. Dry malty, light bitter ending. Reliable.
