Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world's oldest hops growing area. Among the world's most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

great aroma, not really strong enough but what we get is nice hoppy , lots of different flavors and some faint swetnenss. clear orange, large thick offwhite head. flavor is dry, hoppy, sligthly bitter, a little sweetness from malts, well balanced. but in my opiniion it could be stronger.

I haven’t had the Boston Lager in a while, and forgot how nice it is. I’ve tried several lagers, pale and premium, but none have compared to the Sam Adams. It’s now the best brewed US-owned, macro American Lager, couldn’t have happened to a better company IMO. Anyways, lovely hop aromas right off the bat, with some mild sweet clovey banananess... a light amber body with a large, slowly dissapating head, good retention, and some lacing... a smooth drinking lager and a nice session. Palate is a little thin, but shouldn’t detract from the true American standard lager.

A really good lager, which I usually don’t like so much. Nice taste, kinda sweet, easy drinkabilty. Only real flaw for me that iI could find was a slightly off (though not in a really bad way) after taste. I wil definitely keep this one a a top lager on my list.

bottle @ Kaunis Kampela, Helsinki. Slightly cloudy golden color, white head. Malty aroma with a whiff of hops. Crisp malty taste, good bitterness. High carbonation, medium body. All in all, a pretty nice lager.

This is my default brew. Pours a nice amber color with some head and decent lacing. You can smell a mix of bread/citrus in the aroma. Medium body. The flavor is medium in terms of sweetness and bitterness. I find this to be a flavorful beer, yet not overpowering. Can’t go wrong with this brew!

bottle. aroma of faint hops and faint citrus. Nice dark brown lager color and a thin off white head. The beer looks damn near perfect for a lager. The taste comes off as a wired mix of a lager and almost like a belgian of some sort as it warms up. Odd. Very smooth finish. I almost hate to admit it but this really isn’t a bad beer at all. It’s not great by any stretch but it’s a nice lager that you could drink a lot of and actually enjoy.

Bottle. The flavor is full, rich and not too overpowering. Considered my "go to" beer. You can’t go wrong with a Sam Adams Lager for most occasions. It goes very well with most foods too.
