esox (259), Oulu, Finland Oct 9, 2009 Bottled. Clear, golden to orange coloured and sparklinf beer. Medium-sized blond head. The aroma has citrusy and sligtty herbal hops. Clean, slightly bready barley malts. Clean maltiness and light bitterness in the flavor. Dryish and a bit unfresh in the finish. Light to medium bodied, smooth palate. A bit sharp carbonation. Clean and enjoyable lager with hopping of good taste. patrickfannon (273), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2009 Bottle. 12 oz. Pours clear orange with a modest off-white head. Aroma of wheat, hay, barley, hops, and earthy tones. Medium body with a light finish. Surprisingly decent lager. Enjoyit (1697), Vadum, Denmark Oct 5, 2009 Clear amber with an off white head. An aroma of malt, hops and citrus. A flavor of malt and hops. craven5000 (55), Westville, Indiana, USA Oct 3, 2009 Golden yellow in the glass. Smooth and balanced. Limited number of flavors. No weaknesses or strengths. Decent general occasion beer. Weedking4 (33), Stratford, Ontario, Canada Sep 30, 2009 12oz bottle and on tap. This is the stepping stone beer towards craft beer for me. I was obsessed with it for awhile. Solid beer over all. Pours a clear golden. Very smooth and easy to drink. Can’t go wrong with this if the options are limited. kindestcut (30), Addison, Texas, USA Sep 27, 2009 Sam Adams is a beer that, although I don’t ever intend to buy one, I seem to have more often than I plan. It’s because at many restaurants, it’s the only beer available that’s drinkable. And that’s ultimately what I think of Sam Adams...it’s drinkable.
Sam Adams pours a nice amber with a creamy head. The beer smells of malts and is not overpowering as befits a lager. You know it’s a good beer when you fight the head to smell the beer.
Sam Adams has a strong malt flavor with a light hop finish. Just enough carbonation to give it a fine mouthfeel, refreshing and crisp. Not the best beer in the world but very refreshing and satisfying. brenn79 (140), Idaho, USA Sep 24, 2009 12 oz. bottle- Infinitely better than the light, it’s not as malty, and a more balanced beer. I keep hearing negative things about this brewery and it pisses me off, these guys brew some great beers, just because they are a large brewery doesn’t mean they brew crap. Stop judging based on sales, start judging based on taste. That being said, this is not their best beer, and it’s not even close.
