Jun 6, 2008 This is the beer that started it all for me. I rate my beers on a scale from 1-10. This scale’s different but I like it. Sam Adams Boston Lager is a 7 out of 10 on my scale. I have a LOT of respect for it as it’s my first REAL beer I’ve ever had. Good stuff! I will always LOVE Sam Adams. They’re my favorite brewery. I guess I’m a little biased, being from Mass.

Jun 5, 2008 Solid darker lager. Its the best bet at a couple thousand bars that dare to venture beyond Miller Lite. NOthing spectacular and the taste does get a bit old and boring after a while, but its a very thick and malted taste that is actaully very memorable.

Jun 4, 2008 Updated: Jun 12, 2008From a bottle. Lightly sweet with hints of pine and flowers. The finish is short and bitter. It is an alright lager, but not one I would seek out.

Jun 1, 2008 12oz bottle, amber colored. Balanced malt and hops, but i didn’t really find it all that complex. Some caramel flavors. Finishes dry with lingering hops.

May 31, 2008 Pours amber with a nice white head.Aroma is hoppy and carmel. Flavour is hops, carmel, and toasted malt. Nice long hoppy finish. One to return to. Play it again Sam!

May 28, 2008 Bottle, pours an amber color with some nice white head. Aroma is very hop-dominated, although there are also notes of some spices and some floral and pine scents. The flavor is fairly complex for a very common macro, it is obviously dominated by the hops, of which there are several varieties, which give it an interesting and unique pine, citrus, fruit and floral hop flavor. These notes are nicely complimented by notes of malt, caramel and light roasts. This beer is pretty easy to drink, well-balanced and has lots more character than most macros. Honestly one of the better lagers I’ve had, but I’m still not a big fan of hop-dominated beer.
