jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA May 27, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep orange/amber with a thick, off-white head. The aroma is sweet and rich with notes of spicy/floral hops. The flavor follows the nose: clean. malts with notes of bread/toast/biscuits and some residual caramel sweetness, and floral/spicy noble hops. The hops provide a firm bitterness at mid-tongue. The finish is somewhat dry, hoppy and balanced. The mouthfeel is full and nicely carbonated - no sting from zealous carbonation, but not undercarbonated either. Overall, a very easy to drink lager that is nicely malty and yet nicely hopped, too - well balanced. matthewpet (28), USA May 26, 2008 Beautiful hop nose full of anticipation, nice amber color. Perfect balance of German noble hops and sweet malt. This truly is the best beer in America. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA May 24, 2008 Updated: Jun 2, 2008One of the beers that started me careening down the path of craft beers. A nice everyday lager that is easy to find and a fine alternative to any of the macros that clutter our stores. My first time with this beer I thought it was over-hopped for a lager but each subsequent encounter increasing my respect for this beer. Most of the time you can find a few bottles of this in my fridge. A great go-to beer and often found on sale in my area. I just wish it was as easy to find their light beer in my area. gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA May 23, 2008 Updated: Jun 2, 2008My favorite pale to amber lager as of yet. Always easy to find. Great session beer. I think I’ll pick up a sixer tonight in fact. Flavor is sweet with a bit of hoppiness in the nose. Not too complex. Good entry level beer. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA May 20, 2008 Thanks to my brother for this beer in a 12-oz. bottle--Poured a bright golden hue with a small white head. Mild hoppy aroma with some dry maltiness. Crisp, slightly bready. Not too memorable, but very drinkable. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle. Every time I have this beer, my opinion of it grows. Nice aroma of of all the hop notes mentioned in the commercial description backed up by a not insignificant amount of sweet, semi-rich, toasted caramel malt. Flavor follows suit, and a good dose of fruitiness comes in as the beer warms, rendering it far more complex than I feel many give it credit for. A very, very nice beer. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA May 17, 2008 Great session lager. This beer truly allows the masses to begin the introduction to good beer and given many, myself included, the first taste of what a real beer can be. rds (224), USA May 17, 2008 Better than most lagers, but I fail to detect the complexity that others found. Good carbonation, more malt flavor, but not great.
