crisp500 (14), New York, USA Sep 23, 2009 not a bad gas station beer. my first sam adams in a while. some head that lingers(not typical with other mass brews). not something i’d drink at every opportunity, but i wouldn’t avoid it. tennessejed420 (69), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 22, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a golden hue with a white head that vanishes quickly. Smells of of hops with a sweet malt underlay. Balanced malt / hop taste with a hoppier aftertaste. Pretty good, a great session beer. smart001 (44), Scott AFB, Illinois, USA Sep 21, 2009 [bottle] I know this is considered by some to be a great beer, and I am willing to give it another shot. That being said, the flavor of this beer was acidic and terrible. I really did not enjoy any of it. There is another one in the fridge and I will drink it, but am not looking forward to it. poisoneddwarf (153), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA Sep 20, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice copper hue with a thick head. Head dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is of caramel. Taste is malty, a little fruity. I’ve never been a big fan of this beer, but it’s definitely drinkable. DonKi11uminati (43), , Indiana, USA Sep 18, 2009 I only recently tried a few Samuel Adams beers (this, the Octoberfest and Cherry Wheat), because I never expected much from them. However, I must say that Sam Adams has some very decent beers, and this is at the top of the pack of those I’ve tried. It’s smooth, creamy, and has some nice notes of sweet malt and citrus. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s overall a very drinkable and satisfying lager- the best lager I can think of off the top of my head. sound67 (157), Offenbach, Germany Sep 17, 2009 355ml bottle. Deep golden/orange colour, medium creamy white head with some lacing. Intense malty/toffee-ish aroma, very uncommon for a lager (nose is more like esb), Hops and sweet malts dominate the full, rich taste, plus stingy citrus notes. Agreeable lasting bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel, medium to active carbonation. Mui impressivo! Not at all the bland lager I was expecting. The best blond American beer I’ve tried, and by quite a margin! italianjohn (338), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2009 Deep golden pour off white head creamy and light hop aroma crisp taste of light malt and light hop finish not bad lots of lacing crisp beer would do again but would seek out others first after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Sep 15, 2009 12-oz. Pours a crystal clear burnished medium amber. Light creamy off-white head that at least manages to stick around for a few sips. Modest lacing. Slightly soured, somewhat cabbagey and roasty nose. Mild earthy hop in the background. Creamy mediumjbody with some light fizzy carb hanging around the edges. Roasty, earthy mid-palate, some dark toast and nuts in there. Long dry leaves finish. Always drinkable. Not one I will pay money for as a rule, but refreshing and tasty enough.
