Commercial Description:
Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® follows the centuries old American tradition of brewing beer with native ingredients, in this case Michigan cherries as well as a touch of honey. The sweet fruitiness of the cherries is balanced against the crisp, cereal note from the malted wheat and the subtle citrus flavor from the Noble hops. The end result is a sweet, refreshing beer that is light on the palate but long on complexity. Introduced in 1995 as a summer seasonal brew, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat® developed a large enough following to be introduced as a year round style. Its distinct cherry character has made it one of the most unique and well liked styles of Samuel Adams® beer ever. Cherries are added at two different points during the brewing process. Once during the mash and again during finishing.

This is a cloudy dark wheat beer. Smells strongly of sour cherries. It has a strong cherry syrup flavor with a bitter aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle- Pours hazy golden with average head, aroma is of the cherry filling out of a pie. Tastes like it should, an unfiltered wheat ale with a nice cherry flavor, I’ve always liked this beer, one of the better fruit beers.

I’m not a big fan of cherries but this beer is just plain awesome. The aroma is big, full of cherries, as is the flavor. Sits very well on the tongue. Goes great with any dessert.

Bottle. Poured a clear gold with a strong reddish hue and a thin white head. Aroma had a combination of wheat, sweet cherries and honey, not particularly well balanced. Flavor was sweet from the cherries mostly and the wheat was more in the background.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy, light yellow with a two-finger, thickish white head that settles down quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma is intense maraschino cherries. Taste is the same. Really sweet, artificial cherries abound. Creamy body. Not bad but sort of unilateral.

Average looking pour. Nose of fresh cherry filled bakery!!!! Very nice! Thick and syrupy on the palate. Deep cherry flavor, but not sweet at all. Complex, yet refreshing.

This beer was better than expected, and refreshing and tasty if nothing more. The cherry is strong but thankfully not too sweet. Other than this there are some notes of wheat and malt. This was a fun beer to try but I probably will not go out of my way for more.
